Francesca Bianchi – Perfume as art

Published February 12, 2025

Perfume is art: scents are born from an artistic vision and created with a sense of artistry where raw materials, knowledge, and creativity merge into a final result: a fragrance that sparks emotions and expresses ideas. Francesca Bianchi creates her perfumes according to this very principle.

Her love for scent came as a child, and later in life – after reading a book about natural perfume – her interest in making fragrances of her own was born. The house’s perfumes are crafted by Bianchi herself – an undertaking that can take anywhere from 6 months to 4 years. The entire process, from concept and idea to formula development, is entirely hers – something deeply reflected in the unique DNA her scents carry.

With a degree in art history, specializing in 20th-century art, Francesca Bianchi makes scents inspired by the inherent power of being human. They evoke emotions, connect with an inner world, offer comfort, or provide much-needed energy on gray days. These scents are unapologetic and sensual, sometimes even provocative: they claim their space as authentic perfumes, reflecting the intimate and deeply human.

The Symbolism of Scent

Bianchi believes in perfume as a symbolic language where different raw materials evoke different feelings, memories, and experiences within us – all unique to the individual who encounters the scent. Perfume, according to Bianchi, is a form of alchemy where raw materials, ideas, and personal interpretations merge into an entity where the sum is far greater than its parts – a scent experience that fascinates, inspires and resonates deeply.
